Run a flow on a schedule
A Schedule trigger runs your flow at set times, such as every hour, every weekday at 9:00, or on the 1st of each month. Use it for reports, syncs, reminders and clean-up jobs.
1. Add a schedule trigger
- In your flow, click Add trigger. In Choose a trigger, open Built-in and choose Schedule.
- Choose how often the flow should run:
| Event | Runs | Settings |
|---|---|---|
| Every Hour | Once an hour. | Minute of Hour: 00, 15, 30 or 45. |
| Every Day | Once a day. | Time of Day, default 09:00. |
| Every Week | On the days you pick. | Days of Week and Time of Day. |
| Every Month | On the days of the month you pick. | Days of Month and Time of Day. Months without a chosen day, such as the 31st in April, are skipped. |
| Custom | Every few days, weeks or months. | Frequency Type (Daily, Weekly or Monthly), Interval, Start Date and Time of Day. |
| Cron (Advanced) | On a cron expression. | Cron Expression. |
For example, for every two weeks starting on a Monday, choose Custom with Frequency Type Weekly, Interval 2, and a Monday as Start Date. The runs follow on from that date.
2. Set the time zone
Set Timezone to the zone your times are in. The options are UTC (the default), America/New_York, Europe/London, Asia/Tokyo and Australia/Sydney.
If you leave it at UTC, 09:00 means 9:00 UTC, which is 18:00 in Tokyo.
Use a cron expression
Cron (Advanced) takes a standard cron expression with five fields: minute, hour, day of month, month and day of week. The default is 0 0 * * *, every day at midnight.
| Expression | Runs |
|---|---|
0 9 * * 1-5 | 9:00 on weekdays. |
*/30 * * * * | Every 30 minutes. |
0 8 1 * * | 8:00 on the 1st of each month. |
0 18 * * 5 | 18:00 every Friday. |
The expression uses the Timezone setting too.
3. Publish and confirm the runs
A schedule starts the published version of the flow, and only while the flow is turned on. Click Publish to start the schedule. If you change the schedule or the flow later, publish again.
You don't have to wait for the schedule to test the steps. Add a Manual trigger to the same flow and click Run while you build. See Build your first flow.
After the first scheduled time has passed, open Executions and filter by Trigger › Schedule to see the runs.
Using the schedule's data
Each run's trigger output describes when it ran, for example:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
id | 2025-05-09T09:18:37Z |
prettyDate | May 9, 2025 |
prettyDayOfWeek | Friday |
timeHour | 9 |
Use it like any trigger data, such as $trigger.output.prettyDate in a report title. All fields are listed in the Schedule node reference.
Pause and resume a schedule
To stop a schedule without deleting it, turn the flow off with the switch on its card in Flows, or in the flow editor, and confirm Disable. A disabled flow doesn't run and its triggers are paused.
Turn the switch back on to resume. The schedule from the latest published version starts again. You can only turn on a flow that has been published.
